KBB Picks the 10 Best Back-to-School Cars (Hint: None of Them Are Ferraris)

Parents and students often have differing opinions on what makes for the perfect back-to-school car. So building a list of the best options has a lot to do with who wins this argument in households across America. Kelley Blue Book is betting on the parents.

When it came to making their picks for the 10 Best Back-to-School Cars for 2016, KBB looked at three top qualities: safety, practicality and affordability.

For instance, each of KBB.com’s new-car recommendations can be had for less than $20,000, using the company’s Fair Purchase Price.

But while parental concerns are paramount, KBB didn’t ignore the desires of student drivers when making their selections. Style was also a consideration.
