Do you do some or all of your work from home? It turns out that a lot of Americans are these days.
According to new statistics from the government’s Bureau of Labor Statistics, a full 38% of workers in management, business, and financial operations occupations — and 35% of those employed in professional and related occupations — did some or all of their work from home on days they worked during 2015.
Among employed persons overall, 82% did some or all of their work at their workplace and 24% did some or all of their work at home.
Not surprisingly, employed persons spent more time working at the workplace than at home–8.0 hours compared with 3.2 hours.
Still, it’s interesting that so many do at least some of their work from home. This is a big increase from years past.
The reasons for this are simple: more work can be done from home, thanks to technology. Also, there are more companies offering flexible work options for their employees.
