Americans Trust Their Credit Unions
A new article in CU Times shows proof that people trust credit unions as a source of financial advice.
CU Times’ Jim DuPlessis cites on online survey from consumer analytics company Segmint Inc, finding that, “51% of members looked to their credit union for financial guidance, compared with 50% of big national bank customers, 42% of regional bank customers and 37% of community bank customers.”
Now, why would this be?
Maybe people trust their credit union because, as CU members, they are part-owners of their CU.
People trust CUs because they are not-for-profit. When your CU offers financial advice, it’s not just trying to make money by pushing certain products.
