Study: Credit Unions Do Mobile Banking Just Fine

Forty two of the 50 largest credit unions offer customers just what they desire in mobile banking services, according to the results of a new survey from personal finance site GoBankingRates.

The company said it surveyed 1,500 people to find out which mobile banking features they use most often. The results show that large CUs are more than holding their own against the big banks.

GoBankingRates found that the most utilized mobile banking features include, (in descending order), balance inquiries, ATM/branch locator, money transfers, account activity alerts and remote check deposit.

According to GOBankingRates, 42 of the top 50 credit unions provide all five mobile banking features that users identify as their favorites.

So, not only do credit unions win on fees and rates, they’re more than holding their own on offering the “anytime, anywhere” banking convenience that today’s customers desire.
