Shark vs. Dyson – Who Makes the Best Upright Vacuum Cleaner?
J.D. Power has been busy collecting consumer opinions on the all-important subject of upright vacuum cleaners. While many brands ranked high in customer satisfaction, only one could emerge as the champion.
Before the big reveal, we’ll point out that the J.D. Power 2015 Vacuum Satisfaction Study polled consumers on a rage of vacuum essentials, including ease of use, features, performance, price, styling/appearance and warranty.
According to their rankings, the Shark scored highest in customer satisfaction among upright vacuum brands. This is the second year in a row that the Shark took the top spot.
J.D. Power said that the Shark was particularly strong in ease of use, features and performance.
However, while the Shark won, the famous Dyson upright was not far behind. In fact, only twelve points separated the two, (832 vs. 820). Overall customer satisfaction with upright vacuum brands is 794, J.D. Power said.
Now, if you use a Hoover, Dirt Devil, Miele, Oreck, Eureka or Bissell upright, don’t despair. All of these brands did just fine in customer satisfaction.
In fact, Dyson (820), Oreck (806) and Electrolux (796) were all nipping at the tail of the Shark. If you want to know how well your brand did, you can see find the full results at J.D. Power.
