Homes for the Hirsute: These Cities are Friendly to Facial Hair

Male grooming brand Wahl takes a professional interest in men’s facial hair issues. As part of this duty, the company looks at data from around the U.S., and finds which cities are the friendliest to men who choose to let their facial follicles hang out.

Specifically, the company each year compiles a list of the ‘Most Facial Hair Friendly Cities in America.’

For 2015, the top ten were:

Washington D.C.
Los Angeles
Seattle
San Francisco
Nashville
Denver
Chicago
New York
San Diego
Indianapolis

This is interesting, isn’t it? Would you have thought that buttoned-down Washington, D.C. would be #1, or that Los Angeles, New York and San Francisco would be in the top ten?

Sure, we can understand why laid back, unpretentious Seattle might be a facial-hair friendly place – but New York?

We’ll take Wahl’s word for it. They are experts, after all – and the company said it will be visiting its top cities with special promotions. Putting their money where their beards are, as it were.

If you’ve given up the clean-shaven look, you might think of these cities as understanding and supportive places to live.
