America’s Top Barbeque Cities

Quick, what’s the top U.S. city for barbeque?

Many of us say, “Kansas City, of course!” when that question is asked. But a grill maker Napoleon recently found that Atlanta is our top BBQ center.

The company commissioned market research leader ORC International to find out which cities had the most enthusiasm for grilling.

ORC analyzed online conversations surrounding grilling to find the answers.

These cities emerged as ‘America’s Top 10 Grilling Hot Spots’:

  1. Atlanta
  2. Washington, D.C.
  3. Miami
  4. Kansas City, Mo.
  5. Minneapolis
  6. Boston
  7. Cincinnati
  8. San Francisco
  9. Pittsburgh
  10. Tampa, Fla.

The study also looked at some “who” questions, as well as “where.”

For instance, while we associate men with grill-hogging, it turns out that nearly half of all women who have a grill are the primary grillers in their household.

The vast majority of women are also making the BBQ happen – doing things like shopping, planning the menu, and clean up – even when they’re not the ones playing hero at the grill.

This doesn’t stop men from thinking they are hot stuff: men are roughly twice as likely as women to rate themselves as advanced or expert grillers.

Imagine that.
